I don't have Sky (never have, probably never will) so I am dependent on professional site expertise regarding the Sky hardware. Pocket Lint is usually accurate and they have now updated the HDMI information in their review.Niallihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11917083363610144290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644371100807363751.post-15138046647209882742017-02-23T09:46:42.446+00:002017-02-23T09:46:42.446+00:00Nialli,

Sky have already updated their port to HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 (necessary for 4K/50, only 4K/24/25/30 was possible with HDMI 1.4) and have said they will update for HDR in the future.

This is just spreading unnecessary FUD at the moment.Jonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12884506619494754751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644371100807363751.post-5106113666420350582017-02-19T09:44:40.304+00:002017-02-19T09:44:40.304+00:00Hi, I had my new V6 installed yesterday and I am v...Hi, I had my new V6 installed yesterday and I am very impressed with both its speed and picture quality,my house is a old house which has thick walls and celling's and I could never get a reliable Wi-Fi connection from my super hub3 which was positioned upstairs so I use the superhub3 in modem mode and use a netgear router.
The V6 is showing a 85% signal on Wi-Fi, the old Tivo box outputted 1080i were the V6 outputs 1080p and I can see a definite picture quality improvement. My hub is upstairs with the computer and has wired connections so I don't want to move it downstairs near the TV.Polyneuronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03160961895081879519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644371100807363751.post-55175244423539737822017-02-13T08:32:45.597+00:002017-02-13T08:32:45.597+00:00New problem now When on youtube I can only get sti...New problem now When on youtube I can only get still pictures when I try to run a video I get a black screen, very annoyingAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15548962585019018696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644371100807363751.post-37968718773960723822017-02-12T20:09:38.307+00:002017-02-12T20:09:38.307+00:00Cool No worries :)Cool No worries :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09245591191948045253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644371100807363751.post-16917721670664410042017-02-12T08:44:42.116+00:002017-02-12T08:44:42.116+00:00Hi Matthew You are correct after I went into more ...Hi Matthew You are correct after I went into more detail I stand corrected. (Although Though Virgin don't currently have channels and content in 4K at the moment but it's future proof)

If the Sky Q report is correct and the HDMI socket is a HDMI 1.4 port, that means it can send out 4K signals but at a limited 24fps. Which means no HDR. It doesn't carry enough bandwidth and can only carry colour depths of 8bit.

The HDMI2.0 standard however can easily carry 8bit but also supports 10bit and 12bit colour depths.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09245591191948045253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644371100807363751.post-76704811288274024922017-02-11T20:59:01.078+00:002017-02-11T20:59:01.078+00:00I wouldn't be sure on the Sky comment - see:
