Sky Premium channels arrive on Virgin Media...for some

Today's the day for those who've decided that a dozen Sky premium HD channels are worth the extra seven quid. I signed up online, but as of 8am this morning I was still without them - it seems to be a regional rollout so I will check again this evening.
Anyone else got them?

  1. Nothing here in Edinburgh. As I write it is 10:05am.

  10. I wasn't prepared to pay the £12 per box HD charge (£7 premium charge plus £5 V+ HD charge) so I got rid of TV and went with Sky HD instead and it was the best move I ever made, the Sky HD menus are so much better than on the V+.

  12. I'm getting impatient. I ordered the channels on the 20th July and was confirmed by Email. I have rang Virgin this morning and was told I should get them today. Where are they. I'm in Leicester and still nothing. Not good enough Virgin.

  14. I dont see the big hurry in getting Sky Sports HD in the next 2 weeks as theres only the community shield and Irish and Welsh friendly internationals in HD for football fans.

  15. I literally just got off the phone to Virgin to order them, said it can take upto 24 hours, but will more likely be 10 mins or so.

The chap was telling me that nearly 80% of calls are angry customers refusing to pay for an OPTIONAL service, and threatening to cancel their subscriptions!

'Where are they. I'm in Leicester and still nothing. Not good enough Virgin'

And comments like that are a bit silly too. A national roll out of HD channels, that Virgin have finally got and made available for a very competitive price, and still people complain that they don't have it right here, right now.

If it helps to know, 15 mins after that call I made, and im watching Gladiator in HD (About as HD as I can expect anyway).

    Good job Virgin.

  16. Regarding Luke's comment, it took me another call to Virgin and around 30 mins of music for a customer service rep to put me through to Technical Support and 10 mins of more music only to be told that if they are not on within 24 hours to call back. Delightful. Funny that within 10 mins they then magically appeared. And you wonder why I'm a bit miffed. Good job the calls were free.

  17. I phoned up and the message said it was easy to order online. So I did.
After the whole process was complete it said to could take up to 72 hrs for the channels to appear. Should have stayed on the phone and got them activated in 20 mins!

  18. Movies plus £7 more, shit the whole thing cost 2 much
So I only took out sky movie 2 HD

Left sky movie 1 HD out
Wanna test it and see if they really look HD
