With the arrival of ESPN and BT Sports 1 and 2, we now have 49 HD channels on Virgin Media. What should be 50th? My vote would be for Sky Atlantic (yeah, I know, "change the record, Nialli").
UPDATE: How wrong am I? Turns out we already have fifty, as something called as NHK World HD is available on Channel 625 (XL pack). I've never watched it as I never venture through the 600s in the channel listings.
I vote for Sky Atlantic too. Of course, I'd like to be able to view it from my new Android Tivo App (supposedly due this month!), but I'll settle for Sky Atlantic first if not.
ReplyDeleteSky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic!
ReplyDeletePlease before the next season of Game of Thrones!!!!!
We should have it well before then

ReplyDeleteThere is already 50 HD channels , NHK World HD on 625 isn't listed on your blog.
ReplyDeleteTo think we only had 1 channel in November 2008!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get a SKY signal when I moved house, so reluctantly had to go from SKY HD to Virgin Media when I moved house. To be fair to VM, they've come on leaps and bounds since then and have a pretty compelling offering too, e.g. I wouldn't pay extra each month for BT Sport but I will watch some of the games now it's included in my XL package.
Please could we have SKY Sports news HD And Sky news HD please
ReplyDelete"Turns out we already have fifty... something called as NHK World HD is available on Channel 625 (XL pack)."
ReplyDeleteYou might actually want to add an News Section then to your list of HD Channels as the list to the right excludes NHK!
Also unless you have TV-XL ESPN and BT Channels like Sky Sports and Movies can be purchased regardless of package as an addon independently for a cost!
By January or February it would be at least 54 with the launch of BBC HD channels and you can also expect Sky to at least follow with Sky News HD!
Sky of course, still have a lot more HD channels, and some great deals out there.
ReplyDeleteSky do have a lot more channels, and some great deals (just before the price increases kick in). I try to keep this blog from the Sky vs Virgin Media arguments that pepper the Forums - you simply pays your money and makes your choice.
ReplyDeleteEeeeerrrrrrr. Didn't you notice ESPN2 in HG is on now as well????????????
ReplyDeleteESPN2 in HD has launched. Anyone spot this or am I the only one?
ReplyDeleteIt's not showing in my TV Anywhere app - what channel number is it?
