New function on the V6 remote

I found a new capability of the V6 remote the other evening: if I hold down the TV button for a few seconds it brings up my Sony TV's AV input menu. My old TiVo's remote doesn't do this but it's a useful feature and means I no longer need the telly's own remote very often now.

This definitely existed on the old TiVo control, but it was the 'Text' button instead

Thanks. I didn't know that

Nope me neither.... would have save a tonne of time.. the only reason for the second control is to swap inputs over!

Always something new to learn :-)

On reading this I tried it and it worked only i couldn't use it because no other buttons worked so could not actually select anything, I have Samsung smart TV

Probably varies with TV brand. The Sony TVs input can be selected using the navigation keys at the top of the remote

Works fine with my TX-50DX700B Panasonic!

Another function people should try out is wish lists... it's a hidden function that was an original benefit of tivo series 1.
It basically records things thing that meet descriptions rather than a specific program.
I.e. Record everything with John Wayne or record all cricket. It will look across channels to find the program.
