Sky Atlantic rumours resurface
According to Bloomberg.com:'BSkyB will also focus on ... wholesaling Sky Atlantic, a TV channel that airs programming from the U.S.'
Cable Forum poster ''grahamf'' has posted on Cable Forum that:
''The latest I am hearing from 2 different well placed sources is, that Virgin will be launching Sky News HD, Sky Sports News HD and Sky Atlantic on 9th December.''

Those three channels would be very welcome
Even if Sky Atlantic is in SD,that's fine with me,i want Boardwalk Empire and Game Of Thrones and i watch a lot of SNews and SSNews
I just got a letter saying Virgin Media is going up £4.59 in February,this would at least take some of the sting out of that letter
I'd like to have Sky Atlantic even in SD, but there have been so many unfilled rumours in the last few months (Where are ITV2, ITV3 & ITV4 in HD?) I'll only believe it when I see it.
I agree that we need to see something more for the rather large rise in price we've just been informed about. I've already prepaid for my landline, but this will eat up those savings pretty much entirely.
Let's hope for more channels soon.
I'd like to believe this I really would; Sky Atlantic would be most welcome... but concerned that there's been absolutely no ad campaign or other promotions about it....but then again not sure that VM ever "campaign" about new channels...
prices always going up and no improvments in service or the customer service. I complained about the prices increasing all I was told was look at offers we have. When stated that I dont care about offers for mobile phones I was pretty much told to sod off. Cant wait for my contract to be up to leave virgin.

While Sky Atlantic SD or HD would be good news for Virgin customers, I think you should remember that Virgin is in competition with Sky. Shows like Game of Thrones season 1 has been brought to Sky 1 but they have no plans to show season 2 on the same channel.
You can draw your own conclusions from that. It is either a clever attempt to steal customers from other providers or a bit desperate.
Virgin customers will get Sky Atlantic when it is of no further use to Sky as a recruitment tool as they aren't being forced to give it up.

I'd appreciate it if Virgin did a channel that would air TV classics such as Laurel & Hardy, Harold Lloyd, Abbott & Costello, Tarzan. So come on VM and get working on it ;)
