A Virgin manager I spoke with today confirmed TiVo 2.0 is launching in end of July, they will be available via QuickStart for £9.99 with no upfront fee, these boxes are rumoured to come with wifi and 4K. There will be two size options and redesigned user interface. Not forgetting a new revamped tv anywhere where recorded content can come on the move. A rumoured option to turn off SD channels where there is a HD variant and apps on test launch super fastNothing yet from Virgin yet of course - I would have thought they would want to get some announcement out there soonish as Sky's Q is being heavily marketed.
One thing that is for certain is that Sky Sports and Movies HD are no longer be available on the SA 8300 V+ HD boxes from today.

Turning off the SD channels would be great, worth the upgrade for that alone!
A sexy new faster interface with 3+ tunners and may be a 2TB version would get my thumbs up

just switched over to sky Q sick of waiting for vm to pull the head out of the sand,Same hold story bring out a great product dont support it and get let behind....Catch up tv services was the same
Im not expecting too much either see what happens when Virgin release their new TiVo which is rumoured July.
I may even go back to Sky my self as I can have 50% off for 12 months don't know if it will apply with sky q but still feel Sky Plus HD is better than the tivo in some respects
Howardmicks: can you please share with this blog your initial impressions of Sky Q? You can reach me at niallivm@gmail.com. Cheers
This is exactly what I've been wanting for years.
Just a faster interface please. When I press a button it's like the TIVO box is looking up in a manual what it's supposed to do.
superb nialli fast interface downloads to tablets reasonably fast its whats tivo should be still got vm broadband, menus look amazing on my hd tv just looking now to upgrade to a 4k tv ready for sky later in the year i suspect we will be seeing sky sports 4k in time for next season...seriously anyone thinking about it dont just get it streams perfectly to mini sky q five stars in my eyes and deffo the future
if i was to compare sky q to vm tivo its like comparing a ferrari to a robin reliant
I had enough of the price increases and slow interface and moved to sky. Got family package at half price for 12 months only £18. Its so much faster than the tivo which is really showing its age.
