New boxes comparison from What Hi-Fi

No clear winner and that's an odd TiVo screenshot (taken from the website rather than a TV?) but this is a fair comparison of the latest offerings from Virgin, Sky and BT:

Clearly you haven`t seen a sky Q in action Comparing the v6 to it his like comparing a Porsche To a Vauxhall Corsa...End of day Vm are charging customers to replace there out of date tivo box...4K his embarrassing most 4k smart tv`s have more 4k content than V6..
A friend of mine got v6 came to mine and saw Sky Q in action went home cancelled VM and switched to sky for Q

But he is now paying a hell of lot more money for the privilege. but if you look at it another way? without paying extra for the sports and Movies, what 4k content has sky got? a couple of shows on Atlantic and maybe a couple on Sky 1.
Come the start of the new Football season, i am sure VM will have both sky-sport and BT sports available in 4K and then who will have the more content in 4k for the least cost??
One other question, with your Sky Q do you get 4k on the multi room boxes? oh! and why i am at it, how about extra recording capacity/tuners on the multi room boxes?? and can they share their content between each other?

I don't have Sky Q - no dish on our house - but I've seen it at a friend's. The What Hi Fi reviewer didn't appear to be experienced with the V6 which makes the comparison less informative than it could have been. His pricing's off too, going on list prices rather than what's actually available as the companies jostle for your cash. I pay less for my service today than I did before I picked up the phone in January. I have over 200Mbps broadband all day (and an acceptable 75Mbps at peak evening), a pair of V6s which have 2Tb of shared recordings capability and a ridiculous 12 tuners for recording if I ever need them. I don't agree with Howard's comparison of a Porsche to a Corsa - the V6 is much better than that suggests and the Q more buggy...

Totally agree with you Nialli and from all the reviews i have read, they all come down on side of the provider who has the most content at the time of the review. they always seem to be going for quantity and not quality!

I have the older Tivo box but at the weekend we rented a flat which had a Sky Q box installed. I was ready to be amazed but after 15 minutes of use I turned it off. It was slow, confusing and the PQ was appalling. I was more than happy to get home to my old Tivo. Not impressed at all.

SkyQ is Useless. Sky+hd box was much better. Even The Old Tivo was Better.

F1 in UHD.
Football in UHD.
Some Movies in UHD.

Virgin has none of the above.
