Price rises on the way

Happy New Year – or maybe not. According to the BBC, Virgin prices are going to rise in 2021

Virgin Media is alerting customers to forthcoming price increases for its broadband, TV and phone services. The average rise would be 4%, it said. That is 13 times higher than the current consumer-price-inflation rate.

It plans to invest £1bn in its network this year. Virgin did not raise prices as normal in 2020, citing pandemic-related difficulties for customers.

Other internet providers are expected to announce similar - or larger - inflation-beating increases soon.

Personally, I'm tied to my Ultimate Oomph package until early 2022 so I won't be changing anything this year but I will be paying close attention to what they do with the Virgin 360 rollout before committing again next year.

I think we’ll stick with the package we have for as long as possible until they get the new TV service up to Tivo level, which actually is probably not possible since tivo are the leaders as far as I can tell. I’m not worried about not having gigabit internet because you never get anywhere near the top speed on wi-fi anyway. We’re happy with the Google Nest Wi-Fi mesh system we just upgraded to. Can’t believe we stuck with the useless Superhub 3 for so long. The difference is massive and definitely worth the price.

I know that there are bad bits to 360 an like most I’m going to wait it out cuz my recordings. But two questions probably wrong page to ask but.., are virgin working on updating the recording so that like V6 the box will automatically pick up new series an record as sometimes u don’t know they are on. I thought virgin launched one of there own which took content to that program an put it in recorded or streaming, can’t they bring that to 360? An also do I have to replace box as the box is a V6 model so can’t they just update of a night like normally? I’m on the top package forgot name for channels only with sky cinema an kids pick added no sports, so I’m not on the top so will I have to pay or update free like u are giving out to all new customers. I think I am excited to see it and hope it works out. But I hope virgin and Liberty take peoples thoughts and roll them out. I think I just wait until D day.

They are updating people’s V6 boxes to 360. They instal an app and send you the remote in the post. Once you have the remote you install the new software using the app on the V6

I don't mind paying the increase but they need add extra channels like sky Atlantic and people are less likely to leave

I signed an 18-month deal last August and I've not been informed by an email of any price increase yet. Either it doesn't apply to me or they're in no great rush to poke this particular bear just yet.

Would u recommend upgrading or stay with TiVo V6 until the end hoping Virgin do some updates to 360 the series like + I thought was virgins. I know suggestions were TiVo software and I can live without that. I hope they take peoples thoughts to account
