Game of Thrones - the frustrations of legit viewing

I just love this cartoon! It's not just UK customers who are getting really frustrated with the restricted availability of much-hyped, eagerly anticipated series. Check out the full cartoon at http://theoatmeal.com/comics/game_of_thrones.

The music guys finally got it. It took years of piracy to do it, but they finally understood you need to make everything available everywhere, on every device, with no DRM, and at a fair price. When you do that, surprise, people will give you money.

The TV and movie guys are years behind, which means years more traffic for The Pirate Bay. They only have themselves to blame.

Precicely my dilema. Greed rather than anything else is driving this. People just want to be entertained. Imaine having to pay a high monthly fee for your weekly shop where you get the entire contnets of ASDA delivered regardless of what you actually want or use? Pay TV is like that. It worked when a-la carte on demand options werent available, but now that they are, it's a outdated, outmoded model. I dont want to pay Sky £400 a year to watch one or two shows!

@Moroboshi

Pretty much nailed it on the head with your comment. It is now more convenient to legally get a hold of music than to try and get it free. It may not be cheaper than free but I find people value their time more than anything else.

I would gladly have given HBO £40-£50 for the entire series download, which would go straight onto my NAS where I could enjoy it. As it stands I may have to look at file sharing options for the first time Lost moved to Sky....not something I want to spend my evenings doing.
