If, like me, you're finding VM broadband someone erratic, you may like to try switching your DNS settings to either Google DNS or OpenDNS. Click the links to find out more.
Virgin admitted to a DNS issue last week and again this week and I'm not convinced they have resolved things so I switched to Google DNS - it's free and took seconds. Seems to have not just stabilised the service a bit but I'm even seeing around 10% download speed improvements, too.

How do we do that as superhub 2 doesn't allow changing dns settings? That's why I had to buy a tplink 2nd router to connect via my powering so as to watch Netflix US
Oops should say powerline
You can't change the DNS on a Virgin Media Superhub or Superhub 2 (I've only got the former), so you have to change it on your device. It's easy to do on Macs and iOS devices - takes seconds. I've found that since moving to Google DNS my broadband has been more reliable, but it's only been a few days.
I've used Google DNS for years as Virgin's DNS has always been piss poor. I left OpenDNS as theirs is just as bad, plus they inject javascript into served pages. Google do not (surprisingly).
Try doing ping to google.co.uk and lookup the ip address online, its not googles its VirginMedia on VM DNS or google or opendns
