New TiVo software rollout underway

Our friendly Virgin Media insider Spiderplant has posted on Cable Forum that the roll-out of the new software started on August 3rd. Preston, Southport and Wearside were the first areas upgraded. Keep an eye on this Cable Forum Update thread for further news.
The main benefits of the update are:
  • Series Link+ which gathers recordings and on demand content together, along with some improved options in how the Series Link+ logic works.
  • Improved On Demand menus which make it easier to find new on demand content.
  • Improvements to the core system and fixes for previous know issues - for instance the Dolby Digital optical issue is now resolved.

Any indication if there will also be an updated iPhone / iPad app to go with it?

I'm in Essex and noticed the Tivo logo has changed overnight and when you enter channel numbers they are now yellow. fantastic update haha. I expect more soon ;)

No update has come through yet (South West London) but will post again when it does.

I remember when Virgin issued the September 2014 major update and it took an absolute age to reach my area. Hopefully, being a smaller update it might come through quicker. (Fingers crossed)

Luton got the update last night, not as fast as I'd hoped but a definite improvement

The update has arrived in Cambridge. I must admit, my initial reaction was "Is that it?? I suspect most customers wont even notice. Maybe once I've used SeriesLink+ a bit I might feel the benefit.

Received in Stoke on Trent. Don't like how Sky Movies HD on demand has been bundled in with SD

Seems my initial post about the logo and change in number colours was in fact the update as i have series link+
So here in Essex (Chelmsford) we have it. Haven't noticed any performance increase at all.

Lanarkshire Scotland got the update last night, improved on demand content and GUI looks more like Sky when in the Sky folder.
Seems a little slicker, not sure about the series link+ not sure of the benifits

I finally received the update last night (South West London) and it's a load of pants. >:( The Menus look exactly the same as they did before. I don't know why they say it's 'easier' because it really ain't. It's still laggy as before with no increase in speed whatsoever... In fact, the only change I noticed is the number colour change from white to gold... What's the point? How many times do people need to vent online to get a service we pay good money for working properly. As usual, another disappointing update for TiVo :'(

I want big updates! Updates where the whole UI is completely different or options to customise/personalise the user experience. I would like to see a range of menu/tv guide/mini guide colours apart from purple and high contrast black... More importantly, I want instant response from when a button is pressed and not the long ass delay we have now :(
