Exciting new stuff on BBC HD in the next seven days...

...if only...
It's the same old stuff. Torchwood. Old bits of Later and Coast. Robin Hood. Bleak House. Strictly Come Dancing. Antiques Roadshow. Bloody hell...and we're in the middle of the autumn season when Auntie has all the big stuff on its regular channels!
No Spooks. No Long Way Down. No Top Gear. Neither of the new Poliakoff dramas. Even the new series of Lead Balloon isn't listed as HD in The Radio Times (the last season was shown in HD several times).
I hope they're saving up all the new stuff for BBC HD proper when it launches. They have decent stuff in the archive in HD but for some reason it's the same old stuff broadcast week after week. Strewth...

Robin Hood, Strictly Come Dancing and Antiques Roadshow are all new episodes; there's also new Heroes, Jennifer Saunders sitcom, The Tudors, and various specials such as Hannibal, Fanny Cradock, Brazil, a smidge of live footie... I've only had BBC HD for a month or so, but I've been quite pleased with it so far. I take your point though - compared to regular BBC SD, for a channel that broadcasts only ~ 3 hours a day there are a lot of repeats.

Keep up the good work on your blog - very informative!

Cheers.

Doing my best with the blog - thanks for your comments.
Unfortunately, the Beeb does keep showing the same stuff again and again - all the specials you mention are reshown every month, and you wouldn't believe how often they show old concerts, Torchwood and Bleak House.
Good news is that next week they have something a bit different, and it turns out they do have Lead Balloon after all.
