The TiVo updates start on Thursday but...

...once it starts up don't interrupt the process. More details from Jason over on his blog: http://virgintivo.blogspot.com/2011/11/virgin-media-were-updating-your-tivo.html

so a power cut during the update may cause loss of all settings AND recordings. Not very reassuring.

@parmo thanks for making me chuckle.. like a power cut wouldn't affect it anyway.... lol

@Krankor a power cut under normal circumstances wouldn't cause all (stored) recordings to be lost on return of power, but my take from reading the linked blog is that if power was lost DURING the update then all (stored) recordings would be lost, so is it shifting recorded show data around on the drive which is critical? That's the concern....

@Parmo Sorry dude... I do understand what you meant. Just made me giggle when you take it out of context. ;)
