HBO HD arrives in TV Choice On Demand
Albeit slowly. The following has appeared in some regions this morning: Band of Brothers episodes 1-4 Bill Maher: The Decider The Sopranos (S5) episodes 1-4 Check the new HBO HD folder or the High Definition folder in TV Choice on Demand
I think the arrival of HBO HD is pretty exciting, especially as it's FoC for XL customers. I'd like to see Carnival, Deadwood and the second season of Big Love (which Five has still not shown) all in HD. If they're showing all the HD Sopranos, maybe they could show all four seasons of The Wire, too. After a few months of inactivity on the HD front where the amount of content reduced on VoD, I'm in danger of getting excited again...
It was only released in stereo when released on DVD I understand (rather than 5.1). There's a Blu-Ray version being released later this year, but no word yet as to whether they're remixing the soundtrack for 5.1.
Fair enough.. but i have notice that quite alot of "HD" ON demand doesn't broadcast in DD 5.1 except for the BBCHD channel. I have paid for HD films and not received DD 5.1 but 2 channel stereo. I have recently purchased a cracking amp the Onyko 875 which can take all the formats from analogue to 7.1 dolby true hd etc etc.. BBC HD sounds amazing by the way. Sorry off topic for a moment. So why does it seem like there's no DD.5.1. Could you maybe ask here or in DS forums if anyone else has noticed the same.Feedback would be interesting. Daz
