Coming soon...

The revelations about the Home Secretary's husband's Virgin Media viewing habits in the press will no doubt drive punters to cable in the belief that it harbours on demand porn on a grande scale. They're likely to be disappointed, but there's no such thing as bad publicity and I suspect there'll be an increase in subscribers as a result. I have no idea how VM's adult selection compares with Sky's, but I've noted before that there's a fair amount available in high definition. In fact, it's an area that seems to be growing whereas other on demand HD content is shrinking.

You really think this news story will gain cable some new customers? Most newspapers don't even mention that the "adult" movies were provided via cable and so most people would be forgiven for thinking it was Sky they were getting for free.
Nice attempt at putting a positive Virgin Media "spin" on the story!Perhaps you should work for the government?

Waste of time it being in HD.. As they say you'll go blind doing that ;-)

Tongue in cheek? Did you miss the Daily Mail http://is.gd/pw7E

The Sun and Times mentioned Virgin. Even Sky News gave them a plug.

Are the names of the movies reported anywhere? Perhaps Virgin will put them on a two-for-one deal.

I wonder how popular the "adult" material is on VM - the quantity of channels and PPV porn suggests it's quite an earner. Presumably it all has to be 18 certificate to be broadcast in the UK, which means it must be censored to some degree. With access to 18R (and harder) content online I'm surprised there's still a market for it as a TV service in the home.
I hadn't seen the Mail's coverage - seems pretty detailed to me.

HD on demand now has 5 episodes of Entourage. It isn't soft porn, just wondered why it wasn't on Nialli's list.

Hadn't looked for a while (sorry) - updated now.
Even less than before...

I usually applaud change, but the new BBC HD ident is truly awful and also somewhat sinister. Maybe the frog looks quite good in HD, but considering what high-definition spectacles it could have shown, this really is a waste of my money.

"in keeping with the tone of the channel" says Danielle Nagler - well bring on the makeover and cookery shows I guess.
