Virgin Media and Spotify music service: update

Virgin Media is close to announcing a deal with Spotify and four record companies to launch a new digital music service – more than two years after first unveiling plans to do so.
The negotiations, with a deal now agreed in principle and “all but signed” according to sources, have taken such a protracted amount of time to complete because Virgin Media also had to separately agree terms with Universal Music, EMI, Sony Music and Warner Music as they have the power to veto any deal Spotify does.
Assuming the final details are smoothed out it is understood that Virgin Media plans a limited trial of the service over the summer with a full consumer launch planned for the fourth quarter this year.

VM tv customers in dire need of more hd channels, and what do VM do, music channels, wow(as if we have not got enough) you can get loads of music channels elsewhere free,i bet they will charge in due coarse, they have really have lost the plot, but i am sure in time they will loose a lot more than that,if they dont soon listen to its viewers, and give and get, more hd,and stop all the hype with the overrated, and disappointing tivo

yes bluemonkeymagic i understand your comment, and yes any extra is better than nothing, but its just so many people are after more hd (as promised by VM)but we seem to have hit a stone wall with VM,and all you keep reading about is sky got this and they seem to be increasing there hd every month, and we just seem to stand still, with no comment from VM

I don't think Sky is increasing its HD content "every month".

The only HD channels i'll miss from SKY HD will be the documentary channels. Its the only thing I watch apart from films, natgeowild, history, eden, crime & sky news hd.
