Has anyone out there got a Samsung V+ yet? Now that the new Virgin Media box has been released for a few weeks, it would be interesting to get some opinions on the new hardware's day-to-day performance. I haven't seen one yet when we had our v+ swapped a couple of weeks ago i joked with the installer by saying have you got a samsung v+ he hadn't a clue what i was on about.
Had one installed three weeks ago. Nice little box, seems to do everything it should. No problems so far!
I to had to have a replacement box because of a fault when I said I thought I would be getting the samsung I was told it was only for new customers so I said sort of joking that I better have a look at going over to sky then he replied Fine if thats want you want to do!
It's not surprising that even some Virgin installation personnel haven't heard of this decoder, it's being deliberately limited to certain areas of the country only. I also doubt anyone will be able to procure one simply by threatening to leave for Sky!
For the second anonymous poster - is it true that the menu's are channel changing are now fluid, rather than slow/jerky as on V+/TV Drive box?
Are they in Manchester yet?
Do they actually verify that your old V+ has a fault when you report it?
What plausible fault could my old one conveniently develop?...

They are for new customers ONLY. Even if they have them in your area, you'll get an old V+ for replacement in case of a fault.
second poster here in answer to Lee . . . well I've not seen a previous version so nothing really to compare it with but yes, it's all very slick and smooth.
