BBC HD Autumn schedule

The recent poll on this blog showed that more than a third of you still find yourself watching BBC HD over the newer HD arrivals on your V+, making it the most popular HD channel on cable. Good news: there's a raft of new programmes coming to BBC HD this autumn. We may have to wait until November for the return of Heroes, but in the meantime how about the following? (from Danielle Nagler's latest Blog post)
Returning to the channel at weekends are Strictly Come Dancing (this time, with the results), and Antiques Roadshow. There are channel debuts for Hole in the Wall, Countryfile, Waterloo Road and political satire The Thick of It. There's a range of new comedy, from BBC Two's Home Time, and series two of Beautiful People, to BBC Three's Lunch Monkeys and How Not to Live Your Life, as well as the channel's new horror title Harper's Island.

You'll find the majority of big BBC programmes for the Autumn on the channel, including Life, the Electric Proms, Lost Land of the Volcano, Emma, and The Art of Russia. As well as the Doctor Who specials, we'll be showing the animation series Dreamland, and the next Sarah Jane Adventures, and younger viewers may also appreciate the arrival of Shaun the Sheep and new Justin Fletcher (aka Mr Tumble) series, Gigglebiz, which is a bit like Little Britain for under 6s.

Does anybody know if "Survivors" will be coming back to BBC HD. They only screened 6 episodes and there was a repeat last month. I was under the impression that there were at least 12 episodes filmed.

According to this BBC Press Release, series 2 should be with us before the end of the year http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2008/12_december/22/survivors.shtml

I want to know when Mad Men Season 3 will be on BBC HD. It's airing now in the US which means either a) waiting for an unknown period of months/years to see if BBC can be bothered to show it, or b) pirating it.

The TV studios really don't leave us much choice.

Mad Men will be back early in the New Year. This article from The Guardian is interesting, about why some US series take so long to reach us whilst others are shown within days.

Any update on Living HD or ITV HD. The latter is most important. (footy) Heard we may get it this autumn??

The BBC's excuse for delaying Mad Men is utterly pathetic. BBC HD already shows a huge amount of repeats and total junk, so to say there is no room for what would have been by far the best show they could have aired, sounds extremely implausible. I suspect the truth is there was some financial reason to wait.

With torrents of new shows only a click away, it shows just how clueless some TV networks still are to the reality of the world today.

No word on ITV1 HD or Living HD. The former is likely to be towards the end of the year, the latter could arrive any day now.
I agree with TVsersity about Mad Men, but they can't broadcast it on BBC HD before it's been on BBC4 (stipulated by the BBC Trust). It was the same last year, too. I hope we don't wait too long for season 2 of True Blood on FX, but it probably won't be until C4 shows the first season which means next year :(
