Syfy cancels Caprica

The US Syfy network has announced that the low-rated Battlestar Galactica prequel has been cancelled. Hopefully Sky 1 HD will carry the remaining episodes of season one before too long. Or maybe it will air them on Sky Atlantic?

That's a real shame, Caprica was unique and had so much potential. Still, at least there's now another BSG spin-off in the works: Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome.

Syfy is the US won't air the remaining episodes until next year now, so fingers-crossed Sky continues to the "end" with their current run.

Good ridance. It had some good stuff going on but the fact is that the whole concept of Zoe being inside a cylon didn't work. The camera switches between her and the robot were cringe inducing. It was never close to being as good as BSG (even the dubious second half of season 3). Hopefully the new spin off set during the original war (Chrome and Blood) will be better

I think they should have left it alone - they were losing direction with the final series and the subsequent spin offs have been something of a travesty. Did anyone see The Plan? Urgh. About time they looked at doing something new.

It's one thing that this show isn't any good, but the Galactica brand is damaged almost beyond repair now. If Caprica was Voyager, Chrome and Blood is likely to be Enterprise, and I don't think JJ Abrams is going to come to the rescue with an inspired big screen reboot.

I agree with Erich - no Ronald D Moore on this one and that odd sound you hear isn't a Cylon attack - it is the Producers scraping the proverbial barrel
