- From what I understand, TiVo offer emails have gone to VIP's first, then the triple XL customers, then the XL customers.
- If you haven't received one yet it may be worth calling 0800 408 2159 but, given the inconsistencies experienced in responses from the call centre staff, there are no guarantees - if you don't succeed in getting an installation on your first call, it may be worth dialling in again.
- I found I got straight through when calling a couple of times in the afternoon on Monday but had around a 10 minute wait in the morning.
- Install dates as early as Wednesday this week have been reported.
- The 500gb box isn't available until May 16th and cannot be pre-ordered.
- I've put a quick poll up on the blog to see how many folk are getting quick installs - see the right sidebar to vote

You need the code off the email they send you. I got one yesterday and was asked for the code when I rang to order.
I'm getting Tivo installed this Friday.
Also if you are a VIP customer, make sure you get the HD premium channels swapped to Tivo as they don't do it automatically.
I have a V+ box downstairs and a secondary standard HD box upstairs. V+ box has the HD premium channels, however I am keeping the V+ box and swapping out the standard box for the Tivo with the V+ becoming the secondary one upstairs and Tivo going downstairs. Obviously I want HD premium on the main box, the Tivo one. They didn't think to ask about HD Premium when I ordered so I rang back to check this morning. They confirmed I wouldn't have had HD premium on Tivo and it would have remained on V+ box had I not rang.
They are now rectifying this on the order.
Hadn't received the "code" email by this morning, so I decided to ring the 0800 number and blag it. I was politely (but firmly) told that they couldn't progress an order without it.
Lo and behold, 30 mins later and a new VM Tivo email arrives. No code though - just a box to click on, which directs you to their website, where you order online. The pricing seemed to stack up, so I've gone ahead and booked installation for the 23rd April (the earliest option).
@ Philip
I got the emial this went to book it on line and 23rd was the earlist as well, rang there number and got installed tomorrow instead which was a result, might be owrth a ring.
So looking forward to getting this installed like a little boy in a sweet shop, role on tomorrow
E-mail this morning, just the £149 to pay as a VIP 50. However, I was on a special VIP without the Premium channels (£82). They said this must end with the Tivo and I will now pay (£100.55) Making £18 extra for the movies, sports and Sky HD. This advoids the £3pcm, making it £15pcm extra. Install on the 19th, keeping the V+.
@Coops
Thanks for the tip but we've a few programmes already recorded to watch before we hand back the V+ box.
Looking forward to hearing your first impressions!
Haven't had email but tried number anyway , due to my account having some unusual discounts was put through to customer services where i was told I can't have this special offer unless my discounts are removed which means Tivo would cost me £33 per month , anyone else experienced this
Got my email this morning. tried the online route and something messed up so I phoned VM. Was offered install on Thursday or Friday this week but I'm not around those days so booked for next Wednesday. This is Scotland incidentally in case anyone is wondering how its going region wise. I was initially told that I would have to pay the £3 extra and queried that as I am 50meg broadband customer and was told that only applies to VIP50 and VIP100. Long story shortened we were just about finished when rep said hang on I think I can get you on VIP50 at no extra cost. Upshot being I'm now getting VIP50, TIVO, HD premium channels, keeping V+ (sons room)and other than the one off charge nothing extra to pay a month at all. Result.
Hi all, after reading Blog and having received no email I phoned Virgin Media 2day at 11.30 got straight through and placed my order. Install date this Friday 15th 1-6pm. No probs at all. By the way I am not a VIP or Triple XL customer.
Phoned last night and have an installation date of Friday 15th April.
Registered in November and received an update in Feb, but didn't received a "Dear Dean" email or one yesterday.
They only asked for my account number. Upgraded our package but they weren't able to negotiate on prices as they are simply a subcontracter Virgin are using.
Got my email yesterday lunch time and called straight away. I had a code, but no one asked me for it.
Anyway, install scheduled for Thursday!
I'm on VIP20 and have 3 STBs. They're going to replace 1 V Box with a V HD Box, 1 V Box with a Tivo and will keep my V+HD.
I am getting the TIVO on Thursday and am getting my V box attached to my PC replaced by the VH+ box. I have a question. Can I get Sky sports onto my second box or is it available only on my TIVO?
praise be had my email today installation saturday week all for£149,this made one hell of a differance cos i would not pay £199 and haveing the money placed on next months bill is great news,i originally had sky hd some years back and they wanted alot more all up front.roll on easter.
Rang for TiVo today who said I would have to loose my £19.50 discount and put me through to retention dept who couldnt help, as TiVo is not launched until the 18th with them.
Had to ring sales back again who confirmed I would only have to pay my current amount plus the £3 TiVo charge.
Why are these operators saying such different things!
I asked for email confirmation there would not be a £20 increase in my bill which he said would arrive between 24-48hrs.
If people are missing out due to being told there bill will increase ring back and fight it!
Ordered TiVo right after receiving the email, online, but found that it never appeared on my account!
I rang twice, once to the general Virgin helpline, and once to the Tivo specific one - and no orders were shown at al desite me getting a web order reference.
So I rang again this evening, still no sign of it on my account - and I processed the order on the phone and got the 21st Pm install instead of the 23rd which is what they originally tried to give me!
Arg!! I guess that's the price we pay for being impatient.
I was also told I would lose my discounts. Had a right complaint, spoke to three different people from three different departments, the last of which was the tivo fault line! So had to ring the main number again. Was then told only £3pm extra. I asked her three times if this was correct and three times she said yes.
I will wait to see my next bill, but if you get same problem I'd hang up and ring back.
I've been looking into some info regarding remote record apps for iPhone & Android and the Tivo iPad app coming soon to VM. Currently remote record is through mobile browser site.
@niall, maybe a new discussion on this subject
I didn't get my email until a day after many (not VIP or triple xl) so my install date was late. But just as a tip, online said earliest would be sat 23rd, but on calling up (wanted sooner) I managed to get it for wed 20th.
Not a big difference, sure, but clearly telephone operators have slots to use that online does not.
Worth a try if still not booked.
Just realised; I didn't get any sort of order number or confirmation email or anything. Just told date and time on phone.
Have I been an idiot? Should I have some sort of proof?
is it true that you get sky sports and sky movies if you sign up with tivo or do you have to pay extra for it?
Just a note on my previous post re: losing discounts it's worth ringing back , I did , and eventually got someone who agreed that discounts should not be lost , so Tivo arriving Monday !
My install date is today... between 08:00 and 13:00.... i'm waiting patiently.......
i only got verbal conformation but fingers crossed! i'll let you all know if it arrives
@simonsimple: I've no updates on the iPhone/iPad Tivo remote development at the moment. The last post on it can be found at http://vmhd.blogspot.com/2011/01/tivo-for-ipad-review.html
Not had an Email (VIP 50 ) so rang the 0800 number. Not asked for any code just my account number. The guy did try to add on £7.00 a month but that was easily sorted.
I am on VIP50 and never received an E-mail.
I rang 150 yesterday and was told that I couldn't order until next week, so I phoned the 0800 number this morning and it was all sorted in a few minutes. Code number was not required.
Cost £149.95 installed and no monthly charge. Installation was offered for Sunday 17th April.
I'm only on TV M with V+, BB XL and phone and got an email this morning.
Called up with the code and upgraded to TV XL. (Happy to really as originally downgraded back when Virgin lost Sky 1).
Initially he was insisting that the £5 a month I was paying for V+ (as I was on TV M) would still be payable even though I was giving back the V+ box. I pointed out that was ridiculous and he went off to check and then changed his mind. only the £3 a month payable for TiVo plus the TV XL. Kept everything else the same.
All
I tried to order the Tivo after getting the email, but the person said all current discounts would be removed. They even checked (at least I was put on hold). That makes it an expensive upgrade and not the £3 per month I was expecting.
So the call started on a high, but now just pretty annoyed.
I haven't received an e-mail yet but as on VIP50 called the 0800 052 0781 numbers. Was able to order without any special code for the £149.85 all in price.
I currently have V+ and a SD box. Was offered option to keep V+ as second box for £6.50pm or get a second Tivo for the special price of £149.85, no install fee and no monthly fee.
I like my tech, so getting 2 Tivo's installed on Monday 18th.
Called 150 about some stuff yesterday told to wait till may for launch, called 0800 number now have install on tuesday...
I had no email or pre order for tivo i just rang the number given on this website and orderd i am a vip 50 customer the £149 is a scam tryin to bleed every penny out of their loyal customers
