Virgin Media has some serious EPG issues this weekend for TiVo services and can't fix them as they can't access their servers on a Sunday! That's not a consumer service, that's just plain crazy. As I'm currently on hols myself and depending on TiVo series links I'm more than a little concerned as I was hoping to have Arrested Development, The Killing and Torchwood when I got home. Mind you, missing Camelot and the disappointing Falling Skies won't be quite so painful, and I can still catch The Hour on iPlayer. Let's hope it's sorted pronto.

yer probably gonna miss them matey,The all situation is a total disgrace.VM havent even had the decency to send messages to peoples tivo`s and now we are being told the £3 per month charge doesnt include a sunday service,They is a way round it by going into the recording hiccups(details can be found on vm tivo forum)But it is not much good to people who like yourself are on holiday. What i find laughable the way round it as be posted by a customer and not vm,Clearly they dont know there product. The all thing is clearly yet again a vm shambles and if you check your area service(for faults) its states tv good service,I think not !!!!!!
I hope that the series link tags are reinstated and most of my stuff will record as normal. Surely the series links are local on the box and it's just the referral tags on the EPG missing? First week of the school holidays too - there will be a lot of unhappy customers if a fix doesn't apply itself instantly.
I don't mind missing Camelot but Mrs Nialli was enjoying Falling Skies and there were a few other series we were saving up which we'll miss out on if this isn't fixed.
Yeah, these days the only thing worse than something breaking, is the company trying to ignore the problem and fail to communicate with the people who pay them.
Note to people above: You are paying to test version 1 of something. Never do this.
note of hopeful reassurance...
don't forget, tivo doesn't have to catch the programme on the first showing as per V+ box. If it is repeated later in the week it will record that showing if it isnt on the local drive. (and hasn't been recorded and then deleted). Remember I keep saying time is irrelevant with a Tivo. When we only had one tuner with S1, we used to regularly find the later showing was recorded.
@Tom - I had tivo S1 for 10+ years; Tivo has been running in USA for over 12 years... this is not Version 1. We are not beta testers. (though I know it feels like we are)
Mine working now, Downloaded epg then deleted all my links. Andre added all working fine
I've had EPG problems with TIVO since day one. I get, at most, one week of listings before most channels simply list 'to be announced', and it often doesn't schedule recordings which it should.
It's also getting seriously sluggish now. The HD is about 60% full and scrolling through the seemingly modest list of recordings is slower than even the crusty old V+ box was. Setting recordings can bring up the spinning wheel of death for 10 minutes +, and even going to the recordings list can trigger several minute pauses.
To be frank, TIVO is at best a modest improvement over other PVRs and it still feels very much like a product category which shouldn't exist any more. The streaming age can't come soon enough for me, I want everything in an on demand menu and nothing more. Hulu Plus wouldn't go amiss for sure, if it ever makes it out of the US.
@Richard if it's not version one (because some of the software has been running over in the US for a while) why is it having version 1 style teething problems ?
I'll wait for NTL to make a serious attempt to tempt me off V+ :-)
To fix the issue yesterday we needed to force update on the box. However I understand the box updates during the night, so you probably only lost your planned recordings for Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
VM absolutely have to safeguard against this happening again as all the recordings are in hiccups so it is just a case of recording regardless in situations like this...
