So is that a mobile app that he is using instead of a web page?

I was just wondering the same thing. It's certainly not the site and the only. VM app i've seen is a paid for app. If it is a new app, then it better be available on the most popular mobile system - android..

It's an HTC handset he's using, which suggests Android. Having said that, all of the screens in the ads are simulated so that's not necessarily a promise from VM.

Android? It may appear to sell more buy it's not the most popular foe app download by some significant way, and it's not the best selling in the uk.

I have remote recorded from my wife's Android phone - just go to the VM TV Guide page with the phone's browser - navigate to the progeamme you want - click - and then you are offered record - and series link!

I had two thoughts when I saw this...
1. If it is a new app, is it the TiVo app promised and does that mean it works away from home!!! So we can annoy the misses and change channels when we are down the pub!!!
(new app is meant to be a full control of the menus of our TiVo when we pair with it)
2. hmmm the worrying thing is you need at least 30mins notice for remote web app to start the recording, not quite instantaneous as people think!

@Richard

The actual time required is the same as Sky
35 mins
You don't actually need the app as well, if you have a VM account setup on line, you can access from a laptop or smartphone. All you need to do is access the TV menu from VM website request record on the chosen programme. An email confirming your request is sent, again still requires 35 minutes.
