The new Samsung V+ reviewed
Thanks to Gids for the link to What HiFi's five star review of the new Samsung V+. And, yes, they do complain about the lack of HD services on Virgin, and, no, I don't know how anyone can get hold of one of these yet...

does it have an audio delay setting for lip sync problems like sky hd boxes?
I get lip sync probs when I put the audio through my a/v amp via optical cable on my V+ box. Sky HD boxes have an audio delay setting for this problem.
Regardless of whether Sky or Virgin HD boxes have an audio delay facility, isn't this problem solved by connecting the AV amp/receiver's input to the TV's output rather than that of the HD box? Alternatively, use a current AV amp/receiver and make all connections between all equipment HDMI only.
Gosh, if only a guarantee of the samsung for new customers were true; I'm going onto V+ at the end of the month and the likelihood of getting a new Samsung is not high :(

I don't know. Never had a lip sync problem on the current V+ box - are they common on the Sky HD one?

Ah - not having an AV amp I've not suffered from that. check out this post from earlier, it may have the answer for you http://vmhd.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-samsung-v-details.html

Connecting a/v to tv only produces stereo, and I can't afford a new one (yet).
So I was just wandering if new box has delay option built in.
Yes, I have an amp with only optical in, no HDMI, and I always notice sound delay, even from the PS3 when watching Bluray.
Any delay on the V+ would have to delay the PICTURE to wait for the sound to catch up. Is that what it does?
No, it would delay the sound so you can sync it with the picture.
